AI Job Postings on LinkedIn Jump Sixfold in One Year: CEO Ryan Roslansky

Job listings mentioning artificial intelligence (AI) on LinkedIn have increased six times over the past year. Ryan Roslansky, LinkedIn’s CEO, shared this data in a recent interview with Bloomberg. The rise reflects a sharp shift in the job market as companies seek more AI talent.

Roslansky said the change is causing both opportunity and disruption. He noted many workers feel uncertain about their futures. “It’s Pollyanna to believe that this transition just easily occurs,” he said. He urged workers to learn new skills and adapt, even if they stay in the same jobs.

LinkedIn’s data shows that profiles listing AI skills have grown twentyfold. Job postings requiring AI skills rose 61% in 2024, while total job postings grew only 1.4%. This gap shows AI skills are in much higher demand than most other skills, according to LinkedIn’s 2024–2025 global tech job market analysis.

The increase spans many industries. Tech companies lead the way, hiring machine learning engineers, data scientists, and AI product managers. Finance, manufacturing, and healthcare also show strong growth in AI roles. Recruiters are using AI tools to screen candidates faster and more effectively. LinkedIn’s rollout of AI-assisted recruiting tools like Recruiter 2024 supports this shift.

Experts warn AI will change many jobs. Some roles, like administrative and customer service jobs, face higher risk of automation. Blue-collar jobs remain less affected for now. Still, AI will create new roles and open chances for people to start businesses or learn skills on their own.

Roslansky advised workers to focus on skills AI cannot replace. He said communication and teamwork will help people stand out. “Whatever is uniquely human about yourself, lean into that,” he said.

AI is also changing how work gets done. IBM reports that AI tools automate routine tasks. This lets workers spend more time on creative and strategic activities. Employers now want skills like critical thinking and the ability to guide AI systems.

Companies that hire and train AI talent will gain an edge. But the shift will bring disruption. Workers and employers must act quickly to adjust.

The sixfold rise in AI job postings on LinkedIn shows how fast the job market is changing. Workers with AI skills will find many opportunities. Those who do not adapt may face challenges. The future of work will depend on how well people combine their human skills with AI tools.
